The world of SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is a very complex and challenging world, there are many factors to be considered by an SEO company when embarking on a new SEO project.
No SEO company can guarantee a top 10 google (or any other major search engine) placing unless it is for a keyword that has no competition, as no SEO company knows how the Search Engine Algorithms exactly work. I will however do my best to give you an idea of how long it will take you to achieve your required results. Typically for uncompetitive keywords I would say less than 3 months before you will get decent rankings, 4+ months for competitive keywords and 12+ months for extremely competitive keywords. The timeframe's are only estimates, I have found websites will rank well for competitive keywords within 2 months; it all just depends on when Google updates the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) and how much Optimisation has taken place by that time.

An SEO company can claim to provide instant results, well so can I, if I charge a you fortune for monthly PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising. You can expect to pay anything from £195.00 to £395.00 a month..... yes a month, using the PPC method.
A good SEO company will only charge you for the amount of optimisation work involved and the difficulty of the keyword targets (some less competitive keywords are a lot easier to rank).
